Important Codes

The Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) is a set of standardized laws that govern commercial transactions in the United States, aiming to harmonize business laws across states. In contrast, the U.S. Code is a compilation of federal laws enacted by Congress, covering a wide range of legal topics beyond just commercial transactions.

UCC § 1-308

Performance or Acceptance Under Reservation of Rights

(a) A party that with explicit reservation of rights performs or promises performance or assents to performance in a manner demanded or offered by the other party does not thereby prejudice the rights reserved. Such words as "without prejudice," "under protest," or the like are sufficient.

(b) Subsection (a) does not apply to an accord and satisfaction.

In a nutshell, sign everything important "without prejudice" and when speaking to law enforcement.  You can say, "I will speak to you without prejudice."  More on proper ways to sign, autograph and indorse instruments.

34 U.S. Code § 12611

Motor vehicle theft prevention program

This one is lengthy so I encourage you to go to the link above.  This code sounds oddly familiar to the DMV and your car registration.  Notice it says it's VOLUNTARY.  All these years we've been paying them to please pull us over and make sure the car isn't stolen?  You have got to be kidding right?  It was this one right here that fueled my desire to end my voluntary participation is this program and get my status corrected.
